Now I know who to call if I need furniture moved. Damn!
LOL!! I was a furniture mover for 6 months! Funny.
first dude, you cant' turn the camera vertical or the video comes out on its side, lol!
as far as the dl , take more time setting up and get MUCH tighter before you start. Link the bar to your body through tightening up( VERY tght) the lats. take ALL the slack out of the bar BEFORE you start to pull. Your shoulders are too far ahead of the bar.
sumo should feel like a leg press the bar in your hand, unlike conventional form where you pull with the back more.
think of wedging yourself between the bar and the floor,if that makes sense.
whenyou start ot pull if you were to let go of the bar you should feel like you would fall backwards.
tight is right baby!nice work.
Very cool Rif, Thanks. Yes LOL at the camera thing. UGH, didn't know that until now!!
I'm having trouble getting that upright form, I saw how much I was bent over when I saw the vids. Just one more thing to work on of the many, LOL.
Thanks again.
First, don't train while standing on a wall, very dangerous :-)
Rif has the powerlifting thing nailed, so he is your guy. That said, I gotta be a little dictator...
Don't lean back like that at the end. You never actually stop moving and some judges may red light you, plus it's not really good for your back.
Commit to a style, Rif touched on this but learn the different styles of pull and pick one. You are doing the same thing we all do, getting kinda in the middle of several and pulling. Picking one helps you focus on improvement.
Last, KEEP IT UP! Your doing good, stay after it.
Don't lean back, that's a bad habit to get into, just stand up and squeeze your butt to lock out the hips.
And other than that, yeah-- what Rif said. :)
We're still on for Thurs!
As for picking a style.... ehhhh... I pull similar to how you do, a sumo/CV hybrid-- my hips like it. I've learned both, I used to try and do a super strict sumo pull, but it kills my hips.
In the first vid, the bar drifts away from you... so that'd be the looseness Rif was addressing. I find a decent way to set up is to hold your arms straight out as your setting up, it gets the back in a perfect position. Helps me at least, JMO!
:)
